Livelihoods Development

Equipping individuals with skills, access to finance, and market opportunities for economic independence.

At FJSD, we recognize that sustainable livelihoods are the foundation of economic stability and community development. Many individuals, especially women and youth, face significant barriers to employment and entrepreneurship due to a lack of skills, financial resources, and access to markets. Our livelihoods development initiatives aim to break this cycle by providing the tools, training, and opportunities needed for economic independence.

WHAT WE DO
  • Skills Training: We offer vocational training programs tailored to the needs of local markets, equipping participants with skills in agriculture, crafts, technology, and other high-demand sectors.
  • Entrepreneurship Support: Through business development training, mentorship, and access to startup capital, we empower individuals to start and grow their businesses.
  • Access to Finance: We connect participants with microfinance institutions, savings groups, and loan opportunities to help them invest in their ventures.
  • Market Linkages: We create networks and platforms that connect small-scale producers and entrepreneurs with local and national markets, ensuring fair pricing and profitability.
Our Impact
  • Over 10,000 women and youth trained in vocational and entrepreneurial skills since 2007.
  • Increased household incomes in underserved communities.
  • Strengthened community resilience by reducing dependency on external aid.
